The evolution of artificial turf
The evolution of artificial turf
As the technology of production of artificial turf has evolved enormously, artificial grass can be used in a variety of situations.
Applications with sand filling
For synthetic turf has an aspect as realistic as possible, it is important that artificial fibers remain straight.
The first generation of synthetic turf were typical green carpet did not look at all natural grass.
To get this look natural, longer fibers are used for the production of grass, but the disadvantage is that they do not always stay straight. To support the grass, the grass is filled with sand. This filling provides a much more intensive use of grass.
For sports applications, the grass is almost always filled with sand. The sand provides stability grass, avoiding that it does not move, supporting fibers and gives a good bounce ball for ball games. Optionally, it is also possible to use rubber granules for filling.
